- Added Account Types function in the Admin sectionThis section allows the admin to create account types for all new accounts coming into the system. An account type can be created with all the properties used when creating an individual account. Once an account type has been created when a new account is created under Manually Add Autoresponder there is a dropdown to choose an account type. If chosen(because its optional) the new account will take on the properties of the Account Type. The name can also be used on the signup form

- Added Capability for Admin to turn on unsubscribe confirmations for the system.
If turned on, this shows the user list currently subscribed and gives option to stay subscribed
or do nothing and they are already unsubscribed.
Default is as Normal when clicked, user taken off list immediately and sent email.
If they click on Unsubscribe Now they are sent an email confirming their removal like normal

- Added Admin Newsletter function...where
Admin can send to All active subscribers in the system a
newsletter. The newsletter will look like it is coming from
the subscriber's autoresponder owner when using the owner
personalization tags. Admin can also test, save, see what
is queue,delete, and cancel newsletters.

just check a checkbox and preview their html on the screen.

- Modified the
edit lead function in the autoresponder owner section to
have the capability to view the IP address or the signup
email of a particular subscriber.
- Added a new
Personalization variable called ~~SIGNUPINFO~~ that prints
out the IP address or the original signup email of the person..whichever
was recorded, depending on whether it was a form based signup(IP
address) or email based signup.
- Changed the
Manually contact subscribers and demographically contact
the subscribers to have the option to send it Now or later(later
scheduled by the administrator by a nightly send job called
maxsend.cgi).
- Added an import
autoresponder list in the Admin menus. This function allows
the import of people you want to give an autoresponder...but
don’t want to have to manually add them one by one. It will
autogenerate the account name and password by the imported
person’s first and last name and the number of accounts
given. So for example if John Renna was given 3 accounts...his
accounts would be JohnRenna1,JohnRenna2, and JohnRenna3...passwords
the same as the account name until the list owner changes

New Features In Version 3.0
|
Version
3.0 has several significant enhancements over prior versions
of MaxSponder. They are explained below (in no particular order):

- Changed the
Admin function contact autoresponder owners to send HTML
messages as well as text.
- Modified Import
and Export to allow importing and exporting of all fields
(all name, address, demographics and custom fields.) for
autoresponder owner's customer list.
- Added the
ability to delete all customers in an autoresponder owner's
customer list.
- Export now
support date searching capabilities to allow you to get
information for just the date range you are interested in
capturing.
- Manually sending
an email message to the customer list is now a background
task. You enter the message and hit the submit button. Afterwards,
a background task will start running and send the emails
out. No more waiting on that screen while the email list
is processed.
- Modified demographics
contact functionality to support background sending, allow
for sending either html or text messages and the ability
to choose whether you want to contact just archived customers,
just active customers or all customers.
- Added the
ability to add a FROM NAME to all emails sent out. This
allows you to send a message FROM: John
- Added the
ability to have a Return Path added to ALL emails sent out
by the system. This helps to control where undeliverable
emails are returned to. In some systems, returned undeliverable
emails can go to unexpected places. This feature prevents
that from happening.
- Added the
ability to capture and delete all returned undeliverable
emails. This feature will automatically delete these returned
emails from the system to keep the flow of returned emails
to a minimum.
- Added the
ability to edit a customer record.
- System now
supports a true double opt-in methodology and an opt out
methodlogy as the two subscribe choices. That means that
a customer either gets the first message in the sequence
right away or gets a "confirmation" message with
a link which must be clicked on to activate the email.
- Added a background
purge process to delete unconfirmed subscribe requests after
they have remained active for X days (where you select the
X days to allow for activation.) This allows people to have
time to confirm the subscription in a double opt-in mode
without cluttering up the database with months worth of
non-acknowledged emails.
- Fixed the
textarea box that confused the editing of html messages
that used the textarea form control. You can now send forms
in your website that support the full set of form input
variables. ***Technical Note…When rediting an HTML message
that had a textarea tag you may see the tags as . It is
ok leave them alone, the software will replace them with
the appropriate textarea tag.
- Added additional
personality settings for subscriber behavior. If a subscriber
resubscribes the list owner now has these options: a)Treat
as a new signup o b) Ignore resubscribe o c) Send out message
saying already subscribed d) Resubscribe automatically only
if completed with autoresponder sequence.
- The admin
can now limit the number of subscribers per list on a list
per list bassis to control bandwidth of the machine. · Added
the ability to have more date formats for the ~~CURDATE~~
personalization variable.
- Test messages
feature now allows you to test individual messages as well
as allow you to set dummy personalization values so that
you can verify that all your personalizations are getting
substituted properly.
- Added a check
in the code to prevent an autoresponder owner from being
able to set their From: email address to a value with the
domain that MaxSponder is running on. This will prevent
someone from making an error in editing their From: email
address.

The
primary focus of version 2.5 was a speed and resource enhancement
system. This was necessitated for our customers with shared
servers (i.e. web hosting on machines with several customers.)
This enhancement will handle many of the memory issues that
were showing up for some of those clients.
Also, a security enhancement was added to make the user accounts
more secure.
Lastly, a “training” feature was added that allows you to create
an autoresponder account (or many) that you can use to enroll
someone in when signing up for an autoresponder account. This
is described more fully in the “Methods for Customers to Sign-Up
for Autoresponder Accounts.” section. |

now contact everyone in your database, just the people who
are archived (i.e. already received your entire autoresponder
sequence) or just the people who are actively receiving
your autoresponder sequence.
- Test Message
Preview - allows you to see how your messages look before
you start sending them to customers. All messages are delivered
to you with a single button click.
- Master Remove
Functionality - as an additional anti-spam feature, customers
can now remove themselves from EVERY autoresponder hosted
on your domain by filling out a simple request form.
- Customer Sign-Up
Form Generator - to make it easy for you to get the code
you need to create customer sign-up forms for your web site.
- Five custom
fields that you can use any way you want to collect data
from your customers. These fields can be used to personalize
your emails.
- Expanded personalization
- In addition to the five custom forms mentioned above,
you can now use every field in personalization (name, address,
email, phone, fax, the demographics fields, the custom fields,
etc.)
- Header and
Footer can now be in both Text format and HTML format.
